Only thing its lacking is 1080p upscaling which is handy if you have old analog dvd/vcr hooked up. If you want upscaling and 4 hdmi inputs go the model above. Otherwise this one is hard to beat at it's price.
If you can't afford speakers build the system rather then buy a cheap set of speakers. Speakers can get really expensive and for your average person something around the 1,000 mark will sound great. Go floor standing/book shelf if you have the room. Stick with a 5.1 unless your room is big. If u must get satellite style speakers, look into www.orbaudio.com they are supposed to be really good for satellites.
