X-Men Origins: Wolverine -Raged Impression

I've not read much on this game, all I knew was that it's based on the "Wolverine" movie and mainly revolves around one X-Men character (Weapon-X). It would also be classified as a game based movie tie-in like many previously.

I've only played around 1.5hours of this and I must say....it really doesn't suck like most movie/game tie-ins have in the past and more recently. I don't know what other games 'Raven' have developed, but I am aware of the 'Unreal Engine' used to make this game.

Though this is heavily based on the 'Wolverine' movie, with some cut-scenes used in the game so far resembles what we'll see in the movie. With some impressive visuals shown in the proper cut-scenes used between the storyline, and a not too shabby in-game cuts-cenes as well during the game is where the Unreal Engine is showing it's age....though not to say it's crap and atleast it is fluid with the gameplay.

The gameplay visuals at the beginning of the story (jungle area) closely resembles what was used for Uncharted. But just not as smooth or detailed...but still good for an old engine. As for the gameplay itself, it does play a lot like your typical button mashing game which I found similar to Heavenly Sword! There is a lot of button mashing with a growing amount of variable combo's earned throughout the game (ala DMC4).

Throughout the game, I felt a great deal of expressing my 'rage' towards helpless men with their redundant guns firing at me! Although you're health regenerates fairly quickly from damage, you are not invincible...but nor can you die, they just say they've captured you! There is a lot of good action, violence and blood in this game! It will get repetitive, you just have to hope the story captivates you...because the narrative storyline is pretty darn good! (best I've experienced in a long time, for a movie game).

Hugh Jackman's voicing acting collaboration (along with other actors from the movie) performed a not-too-shabby effort, afterall, he is the man behind the beast!

They haven't received the Pre-order incentive [Poster] yet, so you may wanna call them before you pick yours up.

Plus, JB didn't have it yet, ergo, no price match...so I'll have to return my copy for a refund and then purchase it off JB on the same day! ($20 saving)

Oh, the guys at my favourite EB store just pricematch it for me anyway.
Because they know I would come back 2 days later to get it pricematched anyway xD

Kinda hard to imagine JB not having any stock. Especially when the nearby JB is one of the major stores in Brisbane.

I hope they have the poster in stock *fingers crossed*

So, would you just have price matched it even after you've already purchased it? Do they just take it off the receipt, rather than refunding it and then re-purchase it?!? I'll prolly just do it the old fashioned way and return my copy, then buy off JB...I need to visit my JB anyways.

BTW, install of the game is optional but recommended for a smoother flow of the cut-scenes back to gameplay. I didn't do it because I've got no room in my hdd!

You show them the receipt proving you've purchased it, and they'll just refund you $20. I forgot what they did after that, whether destroying the old receipt and giving you a new one, or crossing it out with the new figure. Can't remember.

As I said before, the guys at my local EB just give me $20 off
Even when the game is released early, and obviously JB doesn't have stock
