No, here's how it works: You automatically get 20 kudos just for writing a review. If an admin thinks it is well written and is really awesome then they will give you an additional 50 kudos because of your hard work. So in my case, 3 reviews + admin rec. = A WHOLE LOTTA KUDOS!!!

Which is why skua got up to 1000 kudos very quickly (all because of those reviews...)
