Splinter Cell: Double Agent - 8/10
It wouldn’t be easy being Sam Fisher. Even thought he gets to jet around the world, most of the time he is spent in dark shadows waiting for guards to come along. You almost feels sorry for them! This is by far the best in the Splinter Cell series and the best stealth game around. In the others Sam looks a lot nicer but in Double Agent he is more fearsome than ever.
You start of the game in a jail cell. NSA sends you in jail so you can help this guy to escape. This guy works for the JBA. So the NSA want you to get information out of them. There is a trust bar on the side of the screen. If you complete a NSA objective the meter goes up and the JBA meter goes down. Or the other way round. If you are very speedy you can gain trust for both sides.
The graphics on this game are fantastic especially the shadowing. In the fourth chapter you get to decide whether to work for the government or the bad guys which is where the game gets its name from. When you work for the government (NSA), you have to pretend to be a recruit and is much easier. The bad guys (JBA), you have to serve time in jail for crimes you did not commit. Sam Fisher must be a modern, high- tec ninja that has all the latest and greatest gadgets.
The one player mode will take from eight- twelve hours. There is a three against three player mode as well. One team is the spies and one team is the mercenaries. The spies are equipped with only high- tec espionage gear. The mercenaries have guns and grenades though. The spies have to hack into certain computer systems to get their information. Meanwhile the mercenaries have to do everything they can to stop them.
Overall Splinter Cell Double Agent is a very good game worth buying. If you were disappointed with the past few Splinter Cells, give this one a try as it is a lot different. It has so far sold 4million copies.
