Big Cheap SD TV or Small HD TV?

You can get decent 1080p 32" LCDs for $700 if you're prepared to search and wait. Worth it. HD is way better than what you'll get for $700 with a SD.

It would be a 50 times better picture compared to the SD imo. And then you get an expensive large screen and they have about the same improvement on top of the smaller one.

You'd still notice a vast improvement over SD, and that's what matters.

edit: if it's just for games & blu-rays then get a cheap pc monitor with a hdmi input. Really, no point in spending $700+ or w/e unless you actually want an extra couple of inches.

ok cool thanx for that, casue i only really want to play games on it, so i dont really care about tv channels. but would the games look the same as a small hd tv compared to a cheaper one?

In all honesty, they can never "look the same". You get what you pay for.

In my opinion, computer LCD monitors do the job fine. So long as they support HDMI and 1080p. They're not perfect, but at least you're not paying figures in the thousands.

I have a Samsung 2494HS and an ASUS VH232H. I like the Samsung better, and I currently have my Xbox 360 hooked up to it (waiting to purchase the 802.11N wireless adapter before shifting it back to the Bravia)

I have a full HD Samsung monitor for my PS3 and a mate has the exact same looking unit but it is a TV. I can assure you there is absolutely no difference other than the TV function that you pay double the price for.
I use a HDMI to DVI cable to hook up my PS3, and optical to my speakers. Of course the only drawback with a monitor is that very few have speakers in-built, so you'll need something else for sound

lol and i thought it was 35 O_o

on topic, its funny how some people dont understand that the smaller the screen, the better the picture quality looks in any definition.

really the only reason most people need large tv's is because most people watch them from a certain distance away like the couch etc, and from that distance its hard to see a small tv, but conversely an SD tv of size looks extremely pixelated, hence the "need" for HD

so if you can realistically get away with watching a smaller tv and it doesnt bother you and its not too small, its a much better option cos a 26" 1080p looks way better than a 60" 1080p.....unless you're using it to measure your manhood

Save up for longer and buy a 40 inch + plasma, it will be well worth the wait. Plasma technology is further evolved the lcd also.

I agree with this although I'm not 100% sure it's correct.
