OK heres a "sensible" question, will there be any issues playing online if one person has the censored version & one has the uncensored version ? Or will the online part of GTA IV be the same on both versions ?

I would think it would be the same. It would have to be wouldnt it? who knows. we have to wait to find out i guess. But i wouldnt think online would change.

yea wouldn't an action conflict between the AUS and other version. I'm starting to think that online will be region locked.

I don't think the edited content would have any affect with online play.
I'm sure Rockstar would make sure both play together the way they should.

I would prefer region lockedthough. then there would be no more crappy connections. But then again i wouldnt be able to play my cousins. Doesnt mind me really.
Edit: It would be funny if this was all a hoax and we werent getting a censored version. i would laugh myself to death. i know its not but it would still be funny.

This is what im doing I got a Cousin over in America Which is getting me GTAIV *USA* and becuase he is only 13 his mum wont let him have the uncut one so im sending him my copy and he is sending me his copy pretty good aye lol

That's silly and illegal and I hope authorities read this so they know what your doing. There is a reason why we have age restrictions on media and stopping a 13 year old kid from playing these games is the reason why.
GTA is the sort of game doesn't matterhow much one version is altered in another country, anyone under 15 shouldn't be playing it, that is the whole purpose of having age restrictions.

i remember playing the earlier gta games on ps1 when i was about 13 and it certainly hasnt turned me into some psycho killer or anything, but then agian some kids are easily influenced

I just canceled my pre-order too. I hate the idea of having to import and not support local retailers like JB HiFi or any of the other Autralia stores. Thanks Rudd and you're government for not having the good sense to allow 18+ games in your last parliment session. Bloody idiots.

Kids are going to want to have what the 'Older kids' have anyhow but the older kids have a choice. Parents can smoke, drink or do whatever they please, why an old classification system like this is around is backwards. If this government is going to move Australia forward it needs to at least consider this option carefully. 18+ Uncut games. I seen a trailer for Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ryu chopped a fiend in half. Thats what ninjas do, look at Samurai Jack and I bet the classification board will rip that game apart. Where is Ninja Gaiden black on the Aussie Xbox original store. OFLC are a joke.

Get a grip, the Australian Federal Government have more important agendas to tend to than the R18+ classification and censored GTA IV issue. This is merely a pebble in an ocean. What about the war in Iraq, national security, Indigenous health, global poverty, climate changes, asylum seekers, illiteracy, the cost of studying, tax reforms, balance in the workplace and affordable housing etc, surely these issues have to take priority right? So again like I mentioned, the Classification Amendment is essentially just a pebble in an ocean, sure you might not be happy about that but seriously, what are games in the grand scheme of things, I mean a child’s health is and will always be more important than a bunch of whinging gamers. And lastly, I do believe Australia is moving forward, and games completely have nothing do with Australia's progression.

I agree with you there. There are reasons for classifications and age restrictions, even if people too young to play don't understand.

been in eb today in city. i ask them bout the edited GTA4 then i ask if there is some cancellation bout this. what they said just TODAY bout 4 pre order been cancelled... and i ask any reason why . they said some of them will just get the u.s copy...
anyway just ordered another copy in dvdcrave.com today. for the u.s version..
