PS3 Online \ Another NAT 3 problem

Hey camlew2, do you need to set up Port Forwarding again, or does this make uPnP work nice now? So are you now getting NAT2?

I didnt need to touch port forwarding, Followed that and now my PS3 is saying NAT 2 (Ive only tryed this on 6520 so not sure if it works on 4200)

4200 & 6520 are the same modem, Only diffrence in the models is that the 6520 has inbuilt wireless. I have asked someone if it will also work on the 4200 and waiting for a reply. At least it fixed mine so i can play GTA IV online now

Hey Texinick, got a new modem/router today.... D-Link G604T... FANTASTIC!!! It was so simple to setup! Even from the PS3's Web Browser! //10.1.1.1... Run Wizard... Set Time Zone... Set Internet Connection Type (PPPoE/PPPoA)... Set Wireles LAN... Reboot!!! And that was it! Wireless connection, UPnP Available and NAT type 2... AT LAST!!! THANKS AGAIN MAN!!!

I have no idea why Sony have so many problems getting their online to be smooth sailing. Yet my 360 has had NO dramas with online at all. It just works, voice chat too. I wonder if the 360 is seemingly less problematic because MS have so much experience with operating systems and networking.

got rid of my 4200 and got a d-link dsl-502t from dicksmiths for $98 pluged it in and nat2 without any port fowarding or dmz.I wish i did that 6 months ago it would of saved a lot of frustration

Until tonight I had a DLINK G604T I got as a present sitting here doing nothing for about 6 months gathering dust as I was still using my DLINK 504G. I was having hassles getting NAT 2 to work through the 504G and after reading this swapped over to the G604T. NAT 2!!! Woot!
