yeah that could be true, but this was announced on the konami site. i wanna play with an aussie with an au copy to be sure that it works

Any luck getting into a match with aussies yet jinx? Has anybody with the oz mgo been in matches with people from the u.s? If so its likely the true interpretation of the translated konami statement means all english speaking versions of the game will be unable to play against those with the Japanese language versions.
Again if any aussie willing to help out could get in touch with jinx to set up a match you could help answer a question thats bothering importers from all over the world.
How is the lag with the americans jinx?

Could you post your psn id on this thread jinx? myps3 members playing mgo could add you when your not online and hopefully be ready to fire a game up next time you load mgo.
I made level 7 in under 12 hours on the beta, i'd be happy to share some of my skills with any aussie willing to add jinx and set up a test match.
WC Loc, i remember you were a core mgo play from the myps3 beta clan, can you help me and jinx out and confirm mgo compatibility between the asian and aussie version?

I bought my copy here....I tried to join a game that my buddy from the U.S was hosting, but i couldn't find it in the lobbies anywhere.... Same for him when searching for the game i hosted... Me thinks that the servers for MGO are region locked.... for now only i hope

UPDATE:
hey guys... apologies for doing this without testing it thoroughly, but i swapped my asian mgs4 for the aus mgs4 at eb today. i did it today so that i could get it for the max value of $105 bucks.
from what other ppl have said, it sure looks like MGO is region locked. i'm still willing to try with others that have the asian mgs4, but bear in mind that i now have the local version

No worries jinx, I've been able to prove the region locking to a point were I'm happy with the parameters. I'm canceling my play asia order, but i don't know if I'll by the aussie version. The whole region locking concept has really pis$ed me off, I very disappointed at konami. The world rankings and clan features are a joke with a region lock.
If i walk past it in the shops it will be hard to resist though........

Coz all of those started off region locked! So did this, I think it will be patched for worldwide servers...

Konami didn't unlock the PES 2008 servers, so unlocking the MGO servers is extremely unlikely. The launch week panic has worn off and all of my local stores are out of stock. I'll wait and see what price the stock is when it returns, if mgs4 goes up to $120 I'll just bide my time.

yeh i was playing with people from the UK last nite. I think we are bagged to getther with every one from europe.

i havent had much of a chance to try, since i've been playing the single player game heaps more. i'll try to give it a shot this weekend and let you guys know

Ok, for those of us that have been playing with people in the uk, do you have the Limited Edition? If so, its because the game is region 2 which is the uk. This is because we were never ment to get the LE and have been given the EU's version.

I was quite taken back by this.. Its supposed to be the exact same version/starter pack that's on mgs4, but as its own sku.. weird if you ask me.. but hey, maybe they'll include some extras..?
