My PS3 stopped reading discs of anything?

hey guys i got a pal 60gig ps3 and it just stopped reading any kind of disc what so ever ..games dvds and all any advice thanks guyz

12 months standard warranty , if its a little over 12 months SONY might still do it.

You can buy replacement lasers and replace them easily enough although it will void your warranty. But it could be a last resort if Sony are reluctant to do anything about it.

I got mine back from Sony on Thursday. At least I don't have to keep using my girlfriends now Once you send it stay on Sony's back about it. Just keep ringing them and they will soon pull their finger out and fix it

Expect it to take a month to come back, that seems to be the average.

You'll get a 60 back like I did so thankfully we don't have to worry about that!

Thank god that was my main concern...i dint think want a 40 gig one bak...my say on this is that sony can suck me off thee f wits put millions of buks into a console and cant even put a decent laser in the maggotz if the guy who created da ps3 was infront off me i would give him a round house kick to the head the sak job......Who ever agreez please post

sorry i disagree completely. all electronic items regardless of company has a breakdown ratio due to moving components. if you bothered taking your time and research sony's breakdown average, you'd find that the numbers are significantly low. so while i can emphatise with you due to your circumstance, i dont agree with your attitude. get a grip, life aint that bad.

1000 buks aint chicken feed brotha i have snes from 92 that still works dont worry bout the tech mumbo jumbo these big guys charge out the ass then your machine ****s up its all crap and they only offer one year ....why cause dey know its gnna **** itself nintendo has a lifetime warrenty y cause it wont **** itself and if it does there confident that they will fix it ...the fact is they are ****in them selfs and and one point or another they all probably will

Firstly I can understand that your upset because I would be too if my PS3 had to be sent away for repairs BUT....

Nintendo consoles have a lifetime warranty ? LOL No they do not, they are 12 months just like SONY. I had an original PS2 that lasted me until I got the PS3 & I still have an original PS1 that still works fine but that doesnt mean some PS2 & PS1 didnt break. If your 92 SNES stopped working tommorrow Id like to see you get Nintendo to fix it under warranty.

you've got to also understand that while your 92 nintendo may work, technology does bring its own issues. I can tell you for a fact that my old LCD tv had zero issues til I decided to upgrade this year and faced a whole new set of issues which I never encountered previously....in fact, I had FIVE replacement tvs in 1.5wks...so I know how you feel. technology - take it with the good and bad.

I have had my ps2 since the release and its been clogging up dust at the back (vents, won't be doing this to the ps3) and still hasn't broken down or blown up

Got to agree, my PS2 was almost bulletproof. Survived a fall from a 4 ft high benchtop & still worked for years without any problems. Im not so sure that the PS3 could handle that.

no, you only see the posts from the minority with issues - you cant judge statistics via internet as there are countless who have no need to post threads as they dont have any problems, not to mention the ones with better things to do aside from internet forums....
