Playstation 3 Hardware \ ADSL2+ and the PS3 help

Hi,
I was hoping someone here could help me. Im finally upgrading from dial-up to adsl2+ and I want to be able to connect my ps3 to it. Can I just get a 4 port adsl2 modem and run a cable from one port to the ps3 or do I need something else. I dont really want to go wireless if I can help it. Im a real noob at this stuff so any help would be really appreciated

DNS error? Most likely that your modem is not configured yet. Does your internet works after you plug in your modem to your computer? Some ISP pre-configures their modems if you buy it from them.

but broadband "modems" are also routers..... they are both a modem and a router...

if your modem is set up correctly, then yes, ethernet cable straight from modem to ps3 and done! yes its that easy. get yourself a wifi modem/router though, no cables...wireless..share the whole house, set up a media server for your ps3 from you pc (or your neighbours lol) heaps more you can do.
