so, say Stanford makes an absolute exception and hands you the data that they've gathered, what are you gunna do with it? how are you going to prove its fake? it'd all come out as numbers relevant to what and how the PandeGroup of Stanford Uni is researching this Project. The only reason that its not released to the general public is that the calculations have to be known to be uncorrupted, otherwise it would be useless, the results would be affected and therefore the research! just stop postin for petes sake!

Put it this way pirare, if there was even the slightest chance that it helped in someway or another i'd do it regardless. As everyone is saying, there's no point stating what you think is fake or unprofessional etc. Your either in or your out, if the latter, then stay out.

Pirarefunk, you keep mentioning that Folding@Home is a scam or it's fake, and that there's no proof that it's actually contributing to cancer research, but I ask you this, where's your proof that it's all just a massive worldwide hoax?

And incase you do decide to rebut with a witty remark I leave you with this quote; 'The absence of evidence, does not equate to the evidence of absence.'

But anyway, I personally think that the 'Foldathon' is a great idea and I'd be glad to do my part to aid cancer research. Who knows, the thing we're doing today could be the very thing that might save our life one day.

Yeh chalk me up i'll leave my PS3 on for a few hours to do a work unit... No skin off my nose for it to happen.

And for all those bitch'n an complaining about the whole Foldathon, if you dont like it thats fine but stop raining on the parade. You only need to say once that its

- Stupid
- Impossible
- Waste of Time
- Any other negitive comments...

Hey look im skeptical about Folding @ Home to be honest, but how hey who knows MAYBE it might work, maybe they will get that clue that helps unlock the cure... And if they dont im not that worried.

don't worry, u don't have to be skeptical.. like i mentioned b4, Sony i beleive is not gonna waste time putting some scam together with Stanford University, they have more important things to focus on (catching up to Wii etc.) So Folding@Home is totally legit, u should really check out their forums and chat to the ppl there, you'll be really impressed on how much these guys are into it! forum.folding-community.org/

good stuff Nichaladas! and thanks - if we dont do it this time we will just have to organize something next month! I'm confident though that if we get as many PS3 users involved as possible we will not only break a PetaFLOP, we'll tear through it!

cheers
