Well if the movie sucks (and lets face it going by pretty much every video game to movie attempt, its very likely)then i dont think it will be that great of an issue, but if it is an amazing movie, then it will be interesting to see what the reactions and possible outcomes will be.

Peter Jackson is tied in very closely with the Halo movie franchise. If there is ANYONE in hollywood i trust to make a decent adaptation of such material it would be him.
He has a habit of putting so much time and effort into his work (ala Lord of the Rings trilogy, if anyone has seen the special extended editions "making of" DVD's you'll know what i mean).

There is still hope for the movie, they just need one of the studios to fund it..which is the only thing i find weird about the whole situtation..seeing as it would make money no matter how **** a movie it might be?
Universal or someone picked it up at one stage then withdrew all their money from the production, halting the movie indefinatly.
