yeh just expanded the AVC codec on the PS3 to use the high profile as well as the main and the low. what that means i have no idear but better to have it than not i gess.
also some updates to the BC so hopfuly more tittles will play although all the games i have played fine already.

As much as i love the updates and look forward to them all the time, i think its pointless and abit time consuming releasing a pretty much pointless update for just one hardly noticeable thing, i mean yeah we need updates, but cant they add these small changes into the next big upgrade firmware instead of making us download repeatedly for tiny features.

It is better to slowly add more features than to cram everything into one massive update that would take 5 years to download and install. Just keep in mind that Sony does not tell us exactly everything that is in their updates - there may be secret features already installed part by part in each firmware updates - they just need to be switched on and TA DA

Games playing better and looking better have nothing to do with what fireware version you have but that ps3 startup xbm is looking like an old psp v1.0 menu. i would love to have my own backgrounds just like my psp and pc as i can change them at will. Longarms has the right idea
