Battlefield: Bad Company - 9/10
Note: I didnt have the time to fully finish the review because i have been flatout this week, but with my time i have done this

Battlefield has been a very successful franchise since the beginning, when it showed the world a new style of warfare. You see, Battlefield isn’t your normal First Person Shooter (FPS), it actually goes another step further. And with the fresh new release, it’s really genre defining. If you have played the previous battlefields you will know what I mean. This time around, it’s no call of duty style, run and gun, come first. You can do that, and look like a show off, but playing as a team is a real key role in Battlefield games. There is a single player storyline now; there has never been a storyline in any battlefield except for the console versions, which had the Modern Combat, which really succeeded well. Just by playing the demo you get a good feel about bad company.
I remember playing the demo for the first time, it was really insane because I haven’t seen a playstation 3 title take FPS to another level, with really big maps and all, it just goes on to show how much effort Dice have put in. If you wonder which game you want to buy out of call of duty 4 or this because you think that they are the same then make sure you think about what sort of game play that you want.
The game wants players to finally explore the award winning battlefield but never before like this, after getting hooked on to bad company you won’t want to migrate back to the trusty old pc for battlefield 2. Its pretty obvious that EA are trying to make a come back into Playstation 3, after we have seen horrific ports which made the ps3 look like a playstation 1. Example; the orange box, half life 2 episode 2 has very bad frame rate which ruined gameplay. But playing bad company is so smooth and the sound that is created makes you feel like you are in the battlefield.
The game delayed last year from Q4 2007 to Q2 2008 because they needed more time to get their work all together. During the time, the BETA for the online was released, for the 360 consoles. During then they ended up finding some work that needed to be done to make the game run at its full capacity. Still though to today there are minor bugs but the demo has been updated for the first time.
Battlefield Bad Company.
The edition I purchased is the Gold Edition which contains some bonus goodies, and the 5 weapons which can be unlocked at level 25 in the standard version of the game. It comes packaged in a golden tin box which has the front embossed. Inside is the Battlefield Bad Company Gold Edition Disk, and the Battlefield Bad Company Gold Edition Manual, as well as a poster. The release for the game was set to be the 26th of this month, but EA tend to let retailers break the release dates as soon as the retailers get the game in. The game itself is much better than the demo, especially the online content. There are more things to do, such as rewards, where you unlock medals and ribbons and things for doing certain things during a game. You can still join your mates easily by going into the custom match menu.
The Game:
Battlefield has always proved itself worthy for Great War FPS games, which really, in a way, simulates war. Since the first battlefield, the game play and themes haven’t changed, because its really rich in content. Ok, so Battlefield 1942 had no campaign, but that didn’t stop it from becoming a really successful game. Then more content was added to the PC format versions, but still, no campaign. It was like the Battlefield franchise was heading to the “Online Only” category. But that changed after Battlefield 2: modern Combat was released, and for the very first time, it made a debut on consoles.
Great game, made a great deal for the franchise. After that, there was no other versions released to the console, EA had headed back to the PC format. But after the new generation arrived, the idea for a new battlefield game was something. As mentioned before, Battlefield: Bad Company, was revealed Mid last year. since then nothing was revealed about the game until late last year, a long time behind schedule.
Battlefield Bad Company is a great first person shooter, which offers more features than other first person shooter games on consoles. One of the biggest positive’s for Bad Company is that its 90% Destructible, which not many games have ever had. Just that attracted a big fan base. Campaign, something every Battlefield fan has been waiting for. Well why wouldn’t you expect it on a console? Single player is totally different from the multiplayer, and the AI in the single player mode are pretty good as well, but, unlike MGS4 your team mates won’t do much damage unless you do so.
The Graphics:
Battlefield Bad Company has some good visuals, great textures in the environments, and the vehicles. The game doesn’t have many visual problems, everything runs pretty smoothly. The weapons really do look good, they actually look like they are real size now , taking up the bottom right corner of your tv screen. The graphics aren’t mind blowing, but they are as good as gold The graphics play a major role in Battlefield Bad Company, you do want to feel like you are at war???
Pros: Great to watch, great to play, new weapons look good, and all visuals are top stuff
Cons: Some delay in destruction, some buildings take a few seconds before they blow up, making the game look like its not a finished product.
The Sound:
One of the strongest elements in a war game is the sound; you want to hear every single bullet fire, the character voices are great, and everything sounds like its actually going on in real life. There are all pros here, nothing bad about the sound. HDR makes it look like no games have ever sounded proper before 
The Gameplay:
The Gameplay in Battlefield is really enjoyable, fun and humorous? Well they did add some humorous comments in the campaign mode which make a lot of impact for a war game. In most war games you play everyone is shouting and serious, but in today’s wars is this how the soldiers act? There has to be some humour... somewhere?
A Strong part of battlefield is the single player, something that really hasn’t been explored before. The campaign is good, and it is challenging on the hard difficulty. The controls are pretty easy to remember, and easy to get used to for all of those Ex COD4 players or current COD4 players. Just a few changes to the layout, but most of the controls are the same.
The Multiplayer:
If there was no multiplayer, there would be no battlefield. Easy as that. The reason why people play battlefield is because of the multiplayer. In battlefield Bad Company, the multiplayer has been redefined, and the number of players has shrinked from the PC formats, obviously to stop lag in matches. Although its 24 players, there are no server selections!!! Similar to call of duty 4, which sucks you into random servers. So far there is only 1 type of mode, Gold Rush, which is basically 2 sides, attackers, which go hunting the gold crates, and must destroy them, and the defenders, who defend the gold crates. There has been confirmation that conquest mode will return in a free patch some time after release of the game.

Recon – sniping class
Specialist-
Support- machine gunner, mechanic , medic class
There are 8 maps included in the game, which feature small and big sizes. There is also a rewards system, and unlockable ribbons, awards, patches, medals of honour. These can be achieved by completing certain challenges. There is 25 ranks in bad company.

I think that battlefield bad company is a great and well presented first person shooter which explores different aspects of war as we haven’t seen. Its always great to have a classic game like battlefield hit the playstation, and EA games have done a job well done.
Would I Recommend it? :
If you can’t get enough of war games, first person shooters and mass destruction , then this game is for you. The story is really easy to understand, no before or afters with battlefield, and the game is great to play for a first timer as well. Multiplayer may seem to be a bit of a challenge at the start, but practise makes perfect
