Our favourite thing to hold.... SIXAXIS wireless controller - 10/10
When we all heard about the launch of the fabulos PS3, many people were wondering, what is the controller going to look like? Well we had a very vast idea, which would probably look like the original Playstation 2 controller, or something like it.
But one day, when the PS3 was unveiled we saw something that was never seen before, something that no one had ever thought about before....
It was something so different that we thought sony went insane.
That, to me looks like a boomerang, and many people called it the "boomerang controller". i wonder if sony were going to make it to be able to fly into the air and back to the person who threw it.... sony made a wrong move there, belive everything that you see about it.
So what exactly did sony do when everyone saw this? they went straight away into rebuilding and re designing a controller, that would not look like an object...
So they decided what they were going to do.
and that is what it turned out to be. but it wasnt over yet for sony. They didnt want to make it the same old controller that everyone knew. so they made it a bit different...
As you can see, this re designed controller for the Playstation 3 has a Mini-B Usb, and it has the numbers 1 2 3 and 4. What is it for?
Well, the Mini-B USB port is for charging your controller, and the numbers do get bigger than 4. The number on 1 controller can go up to 7, being the 4 square and 3 square both lit up, meaning the ps3 can have a total of 7 controllers on 1 single unit.
But, still, sony has not finished there. they kept on going, but to what?
As you can see (maybe, its blurry) in this picture, some blue writing. but what is it ?
It reads: SIXAXIS.... some may be confused at this point.
and some may think "is that a 3-d rubber logo of the PS symbol?"
No. its definately not.
Now what SIXAXIS means is, it lets the user feel involved more into the game, as most next gen gamers wanted. people just got bored of "pretending" to play as someone, when now you can: use the SIXAXIS as a steering wheel or even shake people off that cling to you.
this shows you how to use your controller.
Now, the controller has way more features than both ps1 and ps2.
The way you play is totally different now than it was in the last gen. as i have said, the controller lets you take part of the action. but what have sony done to this controller? well they took off the rumble feature, leaving many dissapointed, but wouldnt you rather the motion-sensing controller?
The minute you pick one of these controllers up, you will notice that it is remarkably light, it feels like you have a pen in your hand. thats because technology has changed so much the battery is probably a small one. And you will also notice the L2 and r2 Triggers are different. some people thought that the controller was broken ?!? but it gets more intense in some FPS that you cant just keep pressing a flat button.. so now gaming is more precise. by using these new triggers, you will notice that there is more accuracy for the gamer. it is also a help in racing games.
Now lets get to the "PS" logo. what this is, is a button. Some will say, for what? well what it exactly does is make changes during games, like if you have 2 controllers connected, but you want to change port numbers, all you have to do is press the "PS" button for 2 seconds and it will also tell you the life of the battery and also, a great new feature, it will ask you if you want to quit the game. this is the safest way to ensure that the ps3 dosent get corrupted. so instead of saving the game and reseting the ps2 all you have to do is hold the "PS" button for 2 seconds and select QUIT. now how great is that. also, your controller can come in handy for music and movies.
here is a question for you guys. When you had your ps2 and you were playing it, and your mum came around because she had to clean the house, how many times would the controller come out or the ps2 falls over? well it has happened to many times for me. Now i havent got anything to worry about with the new PS3 controller.
Here is my rating for the SIXAXIS controller
Gameplay- 10/10- easy to use, and the triggers will always come in handy
Size- 10/10 - nicely done, not too big like the xbox controllers and not too small like the wii.
Weight- 10/10 - like holding a pen, its light, and not heavy
SIXAXIS MOTION SENSER- 10/10 - one of the best ways to play games in the next gen, the only console with it.
Value- 10/10 - the best controller to buy, easy to store
Overall- 10/10 - if you want to get involved with SIXAXIS capable games, you will need this
