Supersonic acrobatic rocket power battle cars is an explosive, fast paced, soccer game available exclusively to the Playstation Network. However, this is no ordinary soccer game. Instead you battle it out to out score you opponents in these remote control like battle cars.
Battle-Cars start up the engine with a variety of unique unlockable cars, enjoyable mini games, aggressive tournaments, split screen multiplayer and intense online action. With this you can already see the game has offered a fair bit of gameplay.
Battle-cars while a fun and enjoyable pick up and play Playstation Network game, does have a strong learning curve if you planning on battling it out against the best in online. It serves up simply controls suitable for any new comers. However, there are many expert tricks and moves that can be learnt and perfected over time, such as dodging, going supersonic and even flying.
Supersonic acrobatic rocket power battle cars gameplay is something unique and is very enjoyable. The way in which the game works is that you drive around these different areas both with a goal at each end. Which ever team knocks the ball into the goal more times wins. The developers have seemed to have mastered the handling, pace and the gravity of the vehicles. The ball is sized in a way that it is slightly bigger than the actual battle cars themselves, which personally I think the developers have perfected the car and ball size scale. The battle cars are able to pick up boost, which can be found in canisters and on the ground of the area. What the boost helps with is enabling you to boost your speed to the point were you can become supersonic, it allows you to drive along walls and rooftops, it even gives you the power to be able to bump and destroy other vehicles, and if used properly can make your battle car fly.
In terms on single player you are comforted with twenty mini games and thirteen tournaments. All these events though have a five star rating system. Which in order completely finished this game and attain all trophies you must get five stars on all the mini games and tournaments, this is no easy task. The bots can get almost effortless on the easy difficulty, but once you get to the higher tournaments they can become very aggressive and challenging.
The graphics are passable for a Playstation Network game. They are by no means the best graphics that have been seen on other Playstation Network titles. But by no means do the graphics take away from the fantastic battle cars experience.
Battle cars split screen and online mode offer up to eight player matches. A great feature is that it allows for you and three other people on the couch beside you to all play online together, instead of just split screen. The online offers ranked, unranked and team matches. But you want to find yourself some players for the same country as it can become really laggy to the point were it is unplayable. Online statistics are being recorded, so you can see how you match up to the best. You are able to track the statistics of yourself and your friends also. Another cool feature is that you are able to save your online matches and save them to your hard drive or upload them directly to YouTube.
The game offers are fair bit of value and replayability. The trophies will keep your occupied for quite some time. With some focusing on the single player aspect and with other focusing on the online aspect of the game. Most of the trophies should be quite simply to get, but there is a couple of really tough ones in the bunch.
Overall Psyonics have really put together a unique, original vehicle soccer game experience. It offers a wide range of different modes available which should keep you entertained for some time. There is a steep learning curve if your trying to master the game. As much as i love to go on about this quality Playstation Network title, i must put out that this game is not for everyone. Go and atleast grab the demo, and if you enjoy the demo fork out the fifteen dollars to help support this small developement team of Psyonics. I am really passionate for this quality title and i think it deserves some more attention from the gaming society. Supersonic acrobatic rocket power battle cars brings such a unique, enjoyable, action-packed gameplay to the palm of your hands and is truley a phenomenal experience.
