Resistance Fall of Man - 10/10

Resistance Fall of Man is a first perosn shooter developed by Insomniac games who are famous for making the Ratchet and Clank series. Resistance Fall of Man has you play as U.S Army Ranger Sergant Nathan Hale. Set in a frightening alternate reality during 1951, Resistance Fall of Man delivers the player a blend of amazing miltary gameplay and horror. In only a few decades, a virus of unknown origin that converts other life forms into a frightening species called the Chimera have taken over Russia and the majority of Europe. Now as the Chimera enter England, America joins the fight to rid humanity of an enemy with a seemingly endless supply of alien warriors of many diffrent types. Resistance Fall of Man also gives players a choice of playing the game in single player mode or as a team in co-op mode, plus the option of a massive full online onslaught with up to 40 players.



Graphics wise RFOM is an impressive title but seems to be lacking a bit from the amazing graphics that Sony promised us. Effects in the game such as explosions and gunfire look fairly realistic and will help in giving the player realistic enough gameplay. The Chimera are also extremely inpressive. There are many diffrent types of enemys the player will have to defeat in order to complete the game, all with diffrent abilities, weapons and strengths. The Chimera actually look fairly frightening and will give the player the sense that they are fighting a very smart and powerful enemy. The between mission movies look clean and crisp but most are too short and are often boring.



The gameplay in RFOM is one of it's strongest points. Some examples or this are the intelligence of the Cimera and the great game maps. The Chimera are highly intelligent and will take cover, advance and attempt to ambush you all while you fight off an onslaught of various Chimera variants. The missions also all have a good structure and are long enough to give you a great gaming experience without any lagging or any nasty surprises. As you play through the game you will notice that the missions have great maps, some of which are based on real streets and buildings in England. It's a good felling to play a game that actually gives you a challenge with alot of awesome gunfights and battles.



The game also has amazing sound. The sound such as explosions and gunfire sound good and realistic to give the player the sense that they are in a real war. The quality depends on what kind of setup you have for your ps3. Obviously with enormous speakers and surround sound you will feel more immersed in the game, but overall the game plays well and has great sound no matter what you have.



Resistance Fall of Man's multiplayer is probably the strongest part of the game with support up to 4 plyers locally or up to a maximum of 40 players over net play. RFOM even has a co-op campaign mode to give 2 people the pleasure of playing this amazing title at once. There are various game types available in multiplayer all being amazingly enjoyable to play. The game is also considerably more difficult in multiplayer so before you attempt this i recommend that you are able to kick some serious alien A$$ in either single or co-op mode first.



Okay so if you haven't gone out and picked this game up yet GO NOW. Great graphics and gameplay along with amazing sound and multiplayer offer an amazing gameing experience that will give you alot of fun not to mention hours and hours of gameplay. RFOM has alot of things to do and while it is only an early ps3 title it has to be one of the best!
