Warhawk the best online shooter! - 9/10

Warhawk is a 32 player online multiplayer shooter. This game is not like other games. It has no sense of story and is just fighting. This makes the game unpredictable and different every time. It is red versus blue in a multiple of number of maps in air or on the ground.
If you want to buy this game immediately, you can purchase this from the PlayStation Store for $49.99 or if you would like to get it with a free Blue- Tooth Headset, it is $99.99 from the shops. The Blue- Tooth Headset allows you to talk to other people while playing. To talk, you hold down L3. The only difference between the games is the PSN one doesn’t come with a case and a useless instruction book.
The good thing about Warhawk is that it is very straight forward and is very easy to just jump into a server. One of the major differences between this game and other shooting games in the amount of aircrafts on most of the maps. Even when you’re on the ground you can feel planes buzzing and fighting above you. You can pilot the planes very well by using the sticks. You can also use the Motion Sensing on the SIXAXIS controller. This is a lot of fun but very difficult. There are a number of weapons floating in the sky that your plane can come and collect.
The weapons include: TOW MISSILE- allows you to direct the missile anywhere you
want while hovering.
CHAFF- You release this when a missile is locked on and it stops it.
SMARM MISSILES- Are able to target many enemies.
CLUSTER BOMBS- When you drop these little suckers they explode.
AIR MINES- Air Mines float in the air until planes crash into them.
LIGHTNING GUN- will give your enemy a little zap.
STEALTH- This will make you invisible for a period of time.




As a soldier there are a number of weapons that you can find scattered around the place. There are also 3 different types of Turrets you can also use. You can also shoot people out of the back of a car.
TURRETS:
ANTI AIRCRAFT TURRET
HOMING MISSILE TURRET
HEAVY MACHINE GUN TURRET
SOLDIER WEAPONS:
AUTOMATIC RIFLES- has a longer range than a pistol, also a faster fire rate.
ROCKET LAUNCHERS- can lock on to any vehicle on the ground or in the air.
SNIPER RIFLE- can kill someone in one shot. You can zoom twice.
FLAME THROWERS- are fast and effective and is able to kill a Turret.
BINOCULARS- will send a laser wherever you want.
GRENADES- can kill any troop or vehicle.
KNIFES- are used for close combat kills.
PISTOL- is your default weapon with unlimited ammo.


There are five different maps you can play on and five different modes. The modes are Death Match, Team Death Match, Dogfight, Capture the Flag and Zones. All of these modes are enjoyable on every map.

As you gain more points, you gain more ranks. As you gain more ranks you gain more customisation options. With the plane you can customise from the paint to the symbols. With you character you can customise his clothes through to skin colour. The ranking system is very good as it ranks you worldwide. Your profile is easy to access with heaps of stats to view. There is a criteria you have to fulfil so you can earn medals, badges and ribbons. There are a number of ways to achieve theses.


A fun way to play with your friends is by making a clan. Your friends can join by you sending them invitations. It is so easy to see if there online and what game there in. You can just click on their name and join. You can also do the same thing on your buddy list.

Up the top left hand corner is who killed who. The first name is the killer. If it is highlighted in green that means you either got killed or killed someone.


If you have a few friends over and have more than one controller than you can play a local game which consists of a split screen. It is the same as online but you don’t have to connect to the internet.


Warhawk will run in 480p, 720p, or 1080i but they all look awesome. One of the great visual features is that you can see quite a far distance. On one map you can see turrets moving round and some people walking. You can shoot the fools in one shot if you are equipped with a Sniper Rifle. Exploding Warhawks above causes big chunks of burning metal to fall out of the sky. The explosions are great except if you are the one in the Warhawk. The game sound is very effective as well as the weapon noises. Unlike any other online multiplayer game, Warhawks allows you to voice chat which comes in handy.

Warhawk offers more content then its price tag suggests even though there is no main story to it. Even though this is the first game like this to land on the PS3 it has done very well. This is a very unique game created by Sony and Ignito and in no way disappointing. I recommend this no Resistance fans and other multiplayer shooter fans.
