XMB = Xross Media Bar it's the default user interface for the PS3 and PSP. It's what you use to navigate through anything you want ie settings, games, videos, pictures, internet, psn store!

Its actually incredibly simple to use JenFR, you slide left to right for main menu's and then up and down for sub menu's. Very convenient.
