Viacom's Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Animation SKG will release their next-generation DVD titles exclusively on HD DVD ahead of what they say could be the biggest holiday season ever for DVDs.

doesn't surprise me. there are other companies like universal that are exclusive to hd-dvd. i have both blu-ray and hd-dvd but prefer to purchase the hd-dvds as they have more exclusive features like 300. either way blu-ray or hd-dvd there is no going back to standard dvd for me.

I am for Blu Ray . I have not even seen one (Apart the 360 HD DVD Player) advertised in a brochure or on TV etc. Its all been Blu Ray Players. Same goes with the movies, I have only ever seen HD DVD Movies advertised on a EZYDVD Brochure. Seen Blu Ray on Big W, Target, EZYDVD & JB HiFi.

remember betamax lost to vhs because vhs was cheaper to manufacture and most studios opted to go with that. the same thing is happening again as both blu-ray and hd-dvd have great video and audio capabilities but its cheaper to manufacture hd-dvds.
