It depends if the PS3 is on sales. I would suggest holding off your purchase until the 40Gb PS3 comes out at around $599. Remember that with cheaper prices come crappier service. BigW is a discount-cum-department store, so the PS3 will be cheaper than that at EB Games but when your PS3 is dead, BigW will say "talk to my hands, girlfriend."
I purchased(pre-ordered) by PS3 at Myer(best service? Only for the undies department)and so far I've heard many stories about broken things apart from PS3s being handled by the salespeople there; very professional.
So it would be wise to hold on and keep checking catalogues, don't buy online because you cannot trust everyone these days.
