What is bopo?
"It’s a card that will change your life, that’s what! bopo is a prepaid Visa card. It offers all the convenience of VISA, but it’s prepaid, so you can only spend the money you load onto it!"
At the Moment we Know its hard sometimes To see your favorite game come out on the PlayStation store or long awaited expansion to come out but relies that you don't have a credit card or for us Australian that we don't have the Playstaion network card yet. So what do we do? Bopo Card for now. At one small fee of $14.95 for your standard bopo card or $24.95 for you custom Made Card, You will be able to use this card for Your online needs.
Buts there pros and cons in this little catch, because its a prepaid card it will charge an transaction fee for every use, in this case for online use $0.50 per an transaction. Although this may seem like a small price to pay it will all add up.
heres the link to the hidden fees you would have to pay.

My thought first when i saw this card was,
my life can be simple now no need to be asking parents for there credit details, but was i saw the fees it changed my mind if i was going to use it as an one off thing then i might go with it, Give me your thoughts guys on what you think about Pre-paid cards Such as the Bopo card worth ir or useless?

Hmm, wouldn't you prefer getting a VISA or Mastercard debit card instead?
Like, I know Westpac and Bankwest offer the Debit Mastercard ...
Not entirely sure which banks offer the VISA ones.
And it's just another savings account, but you access the savings using a VISA/Mastercard system ...

With a VISA/Mastercard Debit Card ... (if I recall correctly) you can avoid the EFTPOS fees if you use the debit card like a credit card
i.e. at the EFTPOS terminal, select CREDIT instead of SAVINGS.
Or something like that ... I think ...

I think the debit cards have a monthy fee, whilst the others charger per purchase

I think that might differ between the banks.
e.g. Suncorp Metway's VISA Debit Card:
www.suncorp.com.au/
No annual fee or transaction fees for purchases
Pay no interest
Visa Debit purchases are transaction fee-free. Remember, press the credit button when you shop for a fee-free transaction (restrictions apply)
NB: I haven't looked into it very deeply. There might be something I missed/overlooked?

Yeah man you're close, a debit card basically works as a savings account with a credit limit/overdraft options. So only select CREDIT when you're running low on funds, otherwise select DEBIT.
As for me I wouldn't go with BOPO, as I have already have a Visa Debit Card, and you can use it anywhere in the world where Visa is accepted.
Also it's no sweat if you're under 18 RSOP, as you can get a parent or guardian to sign up and simply get them to apply you as an additional cardholder, up to 3 cardholders are allowed with ANZ Everyday Visa Debit, as far as I'm aware.
Banks that offer Visa Debit:

www.nab.com.au/
www.stgeorge.com.au/
www.suncorp.com.au/
Well man it looks like you have some reading to do. Good Luck eh?

Ahh, there we go. I was originally looking to getting a VISA Debit Card.
But then I realised that Commonwealth Bank was offering VISA credit cards with no annual fees for full-time students ... haha

I had a pre-paid visa thing like bopo (i think it was called my canvas or something) and it was such a waste of money with all the fees... but at the time that was all I could get so I lived with it. It was also really hard to put money onto it. I have a visa debit card now and its all good
