Playstation 3 Hardware \ COD4 just broke my PS3

Yeah i have to agree with him..
you have 2 ps3's and your sending in one and you have the other to play while the 40gb is getting repaired..

Most other people only have 1 ps3 and when they send it in they have nothing else to play to await for their ps3 getting fixed..
So you should be fortunate...

I have been having quite a lot of freezes with "Uncharted". And it seems to be in the same part of the game almost all the time. Anyone else have any problems with "Uncharted"?

I don't think it's that game doing it. It's a common problem, and because COD4 is so popular, it just so happens to be what people have been playing. The lens just appears to be flaky.

A friend of mine had his go a week after warranty ran out, same problem, no disks could be read. Yet he never played COD4. He was playing Uncharted at the time it went.

I've said it on many occasions, and I'll say it again... this is Sony's equivalent to the RRoD, and it's happening more and more. Don't quote me the 'stats' on the RRoD, the 360 has been out a LOT longer. Another 12 months, and who knows how bad this could be for Sony. The big question is whether Sony have the balls to put their money where their mouth is, and extend the warranty to 3 years like MS did. I don't much care for MS, but in this instance, what they did is respectable. Personally, I don't think Sony will ever offer the same.

I don't remember experiencing any problems with Uncharted.

The only game I experienced problems was FIFA 08, when a substitution made and you spam X to skip the cut-scenes, the game froze.

But I don't think the problem happened again after a patch was released. Maybe it's been fixed, and not the PS3's fault ...?

Yea, that was what I was suspecting. Hence why I wanted to know if people have experienced the same problem but while playing a different game to COD4

camlew you are on my psn list and on your cod4 stats it says you have played the game online for what? i cant remember the exact number but its between 12 and 16 DAYS of game time, that does NOT include loading time, time spent waiting in the lobby/setting up parties and friendly matches etc. now im guessing that you dont own any other ps3 games that you have even come remotely close to those kinds of figures with......and the same goes for a whole hell of a lot of people. cod4 was and still is a MONSTER. alot of people play it alot of the time.

more people die every year from car crashes than air crashes, but that doesnt mean that its safer to fly an aeropplane than to drive a car!!! its a matter of numbers, pure and simple.
