i cant believe people are actually paying up to double to step up from a 768p to 1080p! especially with 40" screens!
if i ever did get a flat screen (will stick to front projection for at least my next display as well) i would get a 768p, and put the rest ($1500 or so) towards a 2nd sub or something!

EDIT: I'm gonna be getting the new samsung 40" 650 series. its got the best bang for buck, and reviews have been outstanding. its retail price (rumoured) is abouit $3100, but myer has it for $2799. its a bit steep, but well worth a look, and you cant go wrong with them
Matrix6 said: JB has it for $2626 atm. That's just there retail price! Also, the 46" can easily be brought down to $3k or under!
Although, if you can hold out until around October and have a lot of $$$ to splash...Sony's new Bravia X series will be out with LED backlight (46" and up) and other impressive features that'll knocked a lot of competition out of the digital water! Did I mention it'll also have Ethernet connection like the Samsung Series 7!!! (out around September)

Save the extra money for a little longer and get a Sumsung or Pioneer. Stay away from these cheap brands.

It really is a flip of a coin. Viewsonic and Conia are probably the best of the crap, but the others you should stay way clear from (especially Konka or whatever it's called)

Maybe you should've waited until July, they got a promo going that offers you a free (via redemption) PS3 (only 35000 on offer!)
Very nice tv though.

Found it in a forum. Though I hope Samsung does bring in a sweet deal where you can get a second (smaller) lcd tv via redemption like they did earlier this year!
As for who'll benefit from this...in the long run, I hope it's the PS3 loyal who've supported this system and Sony! More better games, less delays and more developers choosing to lead PS3!
TV's will always get cheap, so will consoles...but that takes more time!
