What do you mean by that? If the TV says that it is using 720p when you start up a game that's because the game is a 720p game. Make sure it's set to go up to 1080p/i in display settings and any time it can go that high it will

I've got the same problem with GTA IV too bro, it's not the TV..i think it could most likely be a printing error on the packaging or R* have a trick up their sleeve in the future?

..Has your rig got either a dual GPU gfx card in it or a dual gfx SLI/Crossfire setup with decent Dual or Quad Core CPU? If not, you'll have a problem with gaming at 1080p resolution unless you play older games.

hahha thats a good idea, but i dont think you'll get 1080p with a regular project.. but do correct me if im wrong

funny you asked this, my colleague mentioned to me today that a projector facing the ceiling and playing the ps3 (with a little help from another substance ) makes the experience pretty cooool

i see.. thanks for your reply. i'm reading reviews on the 40" F series online and i got the impression that its works more for movies. and the reviewer would rather turn it off(since it had issues,wasnt smooth etc), so i was wondering if does make a difference in games or not.. no one here with that model tv? does it make a difference worth spending money over?

I too have been contemplating getting the F8, but I recently found out that the new model Samsung LCD/Plasma range is coming out in June. The new high end LCD's will have 50,000:1 contrast ratio (F8 has 25,000), don't really know what advantages that has to the average person?!?

They're also releasing a 32" 1080p range! All these are good news, bcos that will mean new 'better' tv's AND run-out sales/mid-year sales on the current stocks!!!

I can only suggest that a little bit more patience will save you more grief and more $$$. You win! (sort of?!) Good luck!

really?? that means that the jb hifi guy was right!! yeah i was planning on getting a tv set next month anyways, hoping that there'll be good deals for the end of the financial year. with samsung set to release new models, that's surely the way to go!! i'll prob aim for the f8 anyways, since they will go down in price so that retailers can get rid of their stock!

You don't notice the difference between the full HD and a HD tv until you watch a TV program broadcast in Full HD, then it just pops out at you. (not many programs are in Full HD) I almost got the Samsung M series but the free PS3 & 5yr wty won me over. If i got a Full HD tv i needed to spend 700(back then) on a blu-ray player anyway. So that would have negated the savings with the Samsung.
A friend of mine has a LG HD LCD and he couldn't be happier with it. Having said that a relative of mine had a LG 50" and after about 4 yrs rows of pixels would die... They replaced the TV but the new LG had similar problems within a year... Bad Luck? or Bad QA?

The End of the financial year is coming soon (30th June).. If you can wait, some company's will have specials to get rid of there stock before stock take.. Shop around...

That's the TV i'm waiting for...maybe 42" as it's for my bedroom. The reviews have been outstanding and by Xmas they should have dropped over 10% at least.

When I got the F series last year, it was the best TV on the market....inside 6 months, its already being replaced - and inside 6 months of these new 6 and 7 series being introduced, they too are likely to be replaced by something better.....

Its the same old story with consumer electronics - always something better just around the corner. I had waited far too long to upgrade from the old Panasonic CRT (even though it still has a great picture) - so the F series will have to do now for a few more years.....
