Ok, I decided to start a thread dedicated to Qore ...
At PSU, it seems that Qore gets an open beta download code for SOCOM: Confrontation.

Will this be available to us non-Qorers later on? Because if not, I might subscribe for month just to see what's going on.

Yeah, its somewhat tempting I think. In the future apparently more beta's will be available and stuff like that. Lots of exclusive stuff.

It's only available on the American PSN at the moment. I'm thinking of using Entropay (as my American credit card) to go check it out.
But I just want to know if we'll get the open beta anyway, but just a matter of time? Because I can then potentially save USD2.99 by waiting ...

Hmm I personally dont think we'll get an open Beta if we wait. Not many games will do this, but Qore will give you access to the ones that do. Cos wat have we had in the past...? Metal Gear Online?..... Any others?
I think its a pretty good deal if they could guarantee us with a certain list of games like Little Big Planet and stuff like that.

With socom. the main way into the beta is through a pre-order deal with the retail version of the game. then people who bought qore will get in 2 weeks after the people who pre ordered the game.
But thats only in america i dont know if the pre order deal will be avalible here. and i dont think that qore will come out here either

I think I'll subscribe to this month's Qore. If the content becomes available for the public free of charge, I will terminate any future Qore subscriptions.
I'm going to subscribe to Qore but only for this month to see how much i'll like it. (chance are i might) One problem though, why isn't the US PSN updated yet???

yeh if you just buy the one eppisode you dont have to buy any more if you dont want to.
It's just like picking out a magazine from a newsaget when you see they have a game you like on the cover. you dont have to subcribe to pick up just the one 
.
Oh and i just found out that the first "episode" of qore is 1.53 Gigs

Yea haha. Problem with me though, is that I'm a sucker for 'value'.
USD2.99 per episode; or USD24.99 for 13 episodes (that's USD1.92 per episode)
I guess I'll buy individual episodes for now for USD2.99 each. I'll make a decision for an annual subscription later lol.

June episode (#01) will feature SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Secret Agent Clank, Soul Calibur 4 and Afro Samurai.
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation public beta download is expected to be available with the June 2008's "Episode 01"
This part I don't understand:
On June 5, 2008 the Qore icon will be accessible through the XMB's Game section. Once purchased Qore programs become available on the PlayStation Store's Download List. One who purchases the Qore Annual Subscription will get monthly episodes automatically added to his Download List.
Through the XMB's Game section? I thought they could only add something like that through a firmware update ...

It means it downloads to your game section like a demo does.

Oooh. Right right, ok. I misunderstood them. I thought they were saying there will be a new "Qore" icon under the GAME menu. My bad

Yep. That's the one. Then you 'open' it like you would a demo and use it's menu to navigate...all inside the download...sweeeet!

I've bought it, just waitign for it to download probably won't go through till mid-morning if it's cool i'll get the year subscription.
It's an accepatable file size especially seeing it comes out towards the final few days of my monthly usage every month too!

Yea, the same. Except I'm waiting until the 8th before purchasing/downloading it. I'm capped at the moment lol (although, I can stay up until 3am to initiate the download ... because I haven't passed my offpeak quota yet haha xD )

When you purchase it it just goes it download management so you can pause it etc if you don't wanna download it straight away.

Yea, fair point. But it was painful waiting for the PSN to load on dialup speeds lol!!
I'll just wait. Qore will be worthwhile in my opinion, if there's exclusive beta access to Force Unleashed, Killzone 2 and God of War 3 in my opinion

single player games dont have beta's (well not one's that they need outside people to test).

I'm interested to see how long the 1.5gb file goes for, what would that normally be 20-30 minutes in HD?
I thought I read somewhere each episode was supposed to go an hour or so but I'll see tomorrow I suppose!
Should be good value for $3.50 aus a month or whatever it work out to be! Wonder ifonce you have them you can burn them to dvd to save disc space on the ps3....
