Playstation 3 Software & Firmware \ Custom songs in Guitar Hero for PS3 - anyone done it?

Ive seen some you tube vids showing people playing custom songs on GH1, 2 and 3 versions.

Has anyone done it successfully on the PS3?

From what ive worked out......you can only do it on chipped and modded PS2's......or PC's?

So.....can it be done on the 3?.....

Surely some knowledgeable persons will know if it can be done on the PS3 or not?!?!?!?!!
