Bigpond is truly a piece of anus and I've been wanting to leave it for a long time...

But this month... I've had enough. The usage meter stops counting for a few days, so I have no idea how much bandwith I'm using, and then the next time the meter updates, it says that I've used 14gb in one day... totalling about 25gb of usage... so I'm capped... and the holidays just started... and I won't be uncapped before the end of the holidays...

I'm just fed up with their lackluster service and overpriced plans. And why the hell would you count uploads? ._.

Rants aside, what's another ISP which I could join? Of course they have to be better than Bigpond... I'm currently on the 12gb Liberty Cable plan, and I want more downloads at hopefully a lower price.

Other Bigpond users, feel free to ask for advice for joining other ISPs as well.

I've been with TPG for a while, and I havn't had a problem yet. They're reasonably priced and in my opinion quite reliable.

I tell you what though; I can't wait for ADSL2+ to be available in my area.

Also, I emailed Bigpond about potentially making PSN downloads unmetered. I made a pretty long complaint about how all the HD content drains away download usage like nothing else, and this was my reply.

Im with Optus cable, have been for 8 years. They have been nothing but awesome, during the whole time i only ever had 1 week of problems (about a year ago) and in the end it was only because my cable modem was dying, so they replaced it. The network is fast and very very reliable.

I an on a 12gb on-peak & 24gb off-peak plan with no metered uploads for $62 a month. Im not sure this plan is still on offer though, but there is one very similar.

I am with optus cable for 7 years now and great speeds. There is a way to beat the bigpond download limit atm if you know now. Cable is the fastest atm but trying to get adsl2 but no one has it in my exchange
