2009 will see the return of E3, the way the event was intended the ESA has today announced. The conference will be held from June 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and will be upsized closer to former glory after spending the past two years as a smaller event to the dislike of gamers globally.
E3 2009 will be open to all qualified "international and US-based media, analysts, retailers, developers and business partners.” Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the three day event, however it will not be open to the public, putting an end to rumours that have been circulating the internet that have suggested otherwise.
Considered by many to be the highlight of the gaming calendar E3 was underwhelming reduced in size over the past two years, by doing away with all the spectacular displays in favour of a lower key conference. The result has been a decline in highly anticipated announcements being made public at the event. E3 2008 ended on an anticlimax, as Nintendo chose to save their biggest announcements for their own conference later in the year. More information is expected to become available shortly regarding E3 returning to its former glory.
