According to U.S. gaming magazine Game Informer has revealed the very first information for the highly-anticipated Guitar Hero IV ...

Despite the title of the game this fourth installment is set to include more instruments other than just a guitar such as drums, bass and vocals.

Guitar Hero IV will also allow for players to create their own rocker as well as making their own songs however, user-created songs will unfortunately have to exclude vocals in case of copyright issues but after a player has created a song they will be able to upload them to Guitar Hero tunes where anybody will be able to download it. Initially, players will only be able to create five songs of their own however, depending on the ratings of their songs from other players, this may increase. These "song sharing" capabilities are also set to be featured in the PlayStation 2 and Wii versions of the game but Game Informer claims they won't be as 'robust' as the PS3 and 360 versions.

Neversoft haven't revealed too much of the songs in which will be featured in the fourth installment but have confirmed four bands in which will appear in the game, including Van Halen, The Eagles, Linkin Park, and Sublime, with all songs featuring in the game being master tracks.

And lastly, Guitar Hero IV will come with a newly-designed guitar by Red Octane which will include a new input mechanic said to "impact" the way gamers play Guitar Hero in the future.
