Was just wondering what(if any) differences there ae between the 80gig Ps3 & the new Ps3 Slim.
I am just trying to work out which model to get.
Can you upgrade the HDD in the slim? Card readers SD etc??
Any help on this subject would be much appreciated

I'm not sure...but I reckon...You should get the slim model, as it's new...And we all know NEW things are better.

If I were to upgrade to a slim, how do I carry my data across from the old ps3 onto the new one without losing anything? Does a backup do everything or will I lose some stuff like psn games or trophies. Can you link the two together so I don't need to buy a separate storage device, just transfer across to the new machine via usb cable possibly?

HDD u can upgrade!
Everything else seems the same so far apart from the ability to install other OS on the system.

If u already have the larger hard drive i guess u just swap and play so nothing is lost. but if ur yet to buy a larger hdd then read the how it on this website.

Fat, I say.... Im not sure how the ps3 slim works on the inside but i love my fat 60gig one just despite just by looking at the pictures i wonder hoe it will handle with games which use the full use of the ps3... and the fans will kick in.. Because it seems that the slip only has one fan?

I don't like this new PS3. Its fugly. and looks very suspicious... they should have used a better casing. Like the one that the PS3 has now, not something that you get out a happy meal.

That would be the worse idea ever:P

Phat looks better imo alot better and unless i could do a direct trade and keep 500gb i won't be getting one.

Keep it in case the slim is a dud I mean I want to know this too

The Cell is a little smaller and there aren't as many parts in it i'm also suspicious about the one fan looks alright though silver would be good.

A PS3 phat deal to Slim from EB's are for morons who want to be ripped off! Just like when the 80gb sku came in and they had that horrific deal going on.

You'd be better off keeping the Fat one as a blu-ray player or sell to someone who'll give you decent money for it the Fat ones will be rare one day as they'll be phased out eventually.
