PS3 Console \ upconverting over component

I understand the ps3 will not upconvert a dvd over component cable IF IT HAS MACROVSION.

So what about when i take an avi convert it to dvd and burn it to a blank dvd - will it be upconverted to 1080i then?

nope it only converts dvd's that come standard in i think the res is 576p and it upscales it to 1080, i guess if ur AVI was the right res it would work but not if it isnt
