i think closing down a thread on piracy is a bit harsh it is a huge problem and i think talking about it is a great thing getting everyones opinons together is a good way to get to the source of the problem anyways if its not to be disscused in this forum well leave it at that

warez-bb, go there to talk about piracy. lol. but yeah i get what you mean, its not like the thread was supplying links illegal copys of games/apps, it was just a discussion on piracy, theres no harm in that.
As much as i would like to have a well thought out debate about piracy and its negative affects on the gaming industry. We cant here, rules are rules I dont set them I'm just hear to enforce them.

The most humorous thing is, there was an admin discussing the topic, in the thread(Won't mention names). There another admin comes along and closes down the thread, and talks about how it's in-appropriate and against the rules etc.

but the problems i think the admins see with it is that someone may come along and see all the pro's that people are giving about piracy and it may give the site a bad name. they are just being cautious so they dont get owned i guess

its just the mod's don't want the site getting in trouble if some noob comes in posting illegal stuff in the thread

What's even more funny is, a thread in which people were selling and buying compied material, wasn't banned.
But the thread in mention, which simply contained people discussing the effects of pirating on the industry, was closed. The admin discussing the topic wasn't doing anything wrong, it was merely a discussion.
I understand Micky's point, since it's true. But admins are given privileges and power to individuality delete posts as well as Warn / Ban individuals who do the wrong thing. Why was a thread, with ONLY a discussion regarding the effects of pirating, not actually where to find / purchase pirated content, closed?
I'm not going to give my opinion about the the actions of the admin who closed the thread down, since it tends to get me into trouble.

the same reason any thread gets locked, because it goes against the rules of the site.

Sure, and there are pro's to mugging people but its still mostly frowned upon.
Ok guys I've explained the situation and answered your questions. So I'm going to lock this thread up now. I don’t want any one to make another one about this issue ok.
So in the future just remember that piracy is bad and you shouldn’t do it (not that me telling any one is going to stop them)
