The Simpsons Game Review - 6/10
In May 2007, Electronic Arts announced they were to publish an all-new entry in the licensed “Simpsons” videogame franchise, and as many people thought would be an adaption of the then-forthcoming ‘Simpsons Movie’, however, it was revealed The Simpsons Game would take an all-new direction from previous titles, introducing the innovations of co-operative multiplayer, cel-shaded graphics and more, with the storyline focusing around the dysfunctional, yet greatly famous, family who realize they must participate in yet another videogame adaption, and soon learn of their quirky superpowers when they discover a manual to their own game, instructing them on how to use their new-found powers.
While many thought this would be the 'one' that would re-ignite the franchise, others still had doubts as this would be yet another licensed videogame in which would garner average reviews, and fans didn’t want another ‘Simpsons’ game to pity, however, with the help of the cel-shaded graphics in which brought the environments and characters to life, created by long-time series writers, and voiced by all our favorites, has Electronic Arts finally succeeded with a proper, and proud licensed ‘Simpsons’ game?

[8.0] Audio
The Simpsons Game features an excellent performance on dialogue, with it being one of the more humorous games released for a while, and including many parodies of other videogames, companies, and Electronic Arts themselves, with the addition of collecting various videogame “clichés” throughout each “episode” making fun of all the classic moves and features that are included in varieties of past games, such as the double-jump, invisible barriers, and the main character not being able to swim, and adds a nice touch.
Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, and Yeardley Smith reprise their roles as the Simpsons family, with Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Pamela Hayden, Kelsey Grammar, and more, returning as additional voices for the game.
However, whilst featuring comedic dialogue, and the talented voice-actors from the television series, some of the quotes become repetitive and quite annoying at times.

[8.0] Visuals
Electronic Arts have taken an all-new style of visuals, utilizing cel-shaded graphics which truly brings Springfield to life, along with greatly-detailed characters, who appear similar to their television counterparts, and an excellent, and smooth framerate, however, the camera-angle can get frustrating, and becomes fixed at times.

[5.0] Gameplay
Electronic Arts have designed an all-new concept of gameplay for their latest, allowing you to take control of a specific character [from the infamous family], and to a lesser extent, Maggie, each who have various, and extraordinary, yet humorous, powers and utilizing their unique abilities, compelled with third-person action, and puzzle-solving [which, at times, does require some brain-power], in order to progress through each ‘episode’.
Whilst the all-new concept of gameplay is an intriguing difference to previous “Simpsons” videogames, it does, however, become quite boring, and repetitive, with a mediocre, and disappointing co-operative multiplayer experience, in which doesn’t help.

[5.0] Lifespan
The Simpsons Game offers approximately six - seven hours of gameplay, with various unlockables, including costumes, and time-challenge mode for each ‘episode’, along with thirty-one additional videogame clichés, and further downloadable content, such as either costumes or ‘episodes’, via PlayStation Network, with little reason to come back for co-op.

The Simpsons Game is an all-new design, and concept, differing from previous titles, with it being one of the more humorous, entertaining, and greater of their licensed games, however, although with the innovation of an all-new concept of gameplay, it becomes quite repetitive and far too boring at times.
