Is anyone getting an HDMI cable for the PS3? I'm just wondering how many people are gonna buy HDMI cables and how much they will cost.
Oh and one word of advice: if you're getting an HDMI cable and your TV has a native resolution of 1080p, get the HDMI cables that are 1080p certified, because some aren't.

yeah not worth it, thats over the price of 2 games for the ps3 and a BlurRay Movie! Despite how good the Quality is I woudnt pay that much!

it will do its job... offcourse the quality of the expensive one will
be better due to the gold plate and other factors

The quality of the cable does not affect the quality on the screen, HDMI is digital, it only has to send zero's & one's.
The high prices are just due to marketing hype. I see it all the time on the US playstation forums but pretty much everyone there uses cheap HDMI cables without any problems.

I wouldn't pay anything over $30-$40 for a couple of metres, but the price will vary with length of course.

But doesn't some of the expensive HDMI cables have higher bandwidth? Like for example HDMI 1.3, where you can achieve more picture quality and more sound quality.

It depends on the projector itself and the surface it's being displayed on i would think..projector's might not have the same quality of a HD TV, but when your playing on a screen that you can pretty much choose how big you want it to be, who cares

The bigger the better. Although I believe some Sony SXRD projectors can display 1080p.

My understanding was the PS3 came standard bundled with HDMI cables, I'll be pissed if it doesn't, will be great to see it use the full potential of my Sony Bravia X.

It does not come bundled with HDMI cables. It comes bundled with composite cables(in other words the lowest quality crap possible)
