Yeah a definite must. Found mine cheap at Harvey Norman. Some dude bought it with his PS3 then found he didn't have a HDMI TV so he returned it. Their loss my gain.

well it all depends on how good you want the graphics to be??? if you want ok graphics go to eb and you can get it for about $30.00

or if you want really good graphics..go for the $80.00 (I got this one)or if you want totally physco..graphics go for the $200.00 cable

srry that's the cheapest I can give you

Theres all kinds of debate about what quality of HDMI cables you need. basically it depends on the length of cable you are using, and what resolution you are running. HDMI is 100% digital so what you are looking for is the cable that has no/minimal data loss. lower resolutions (720p & 1080i) carry a lot less data than 1080p, so less chance of lost data.

shorter runs of 1-2m are fine to get cheapo $20 ebay jobs for all resolutions. If you are running longer runs (to a projector for example) at 1080p you need a thicker cable (read: more expensive).

Dont go near Monster or Belkin, actually dont go near any retail store when buying HDMI! too much sales crap when the info you should be getting is from google!

2 brands ive personally used are Selby and Hamma and they are both excellent (no 'sparklies') running 10 and 12m to my projector at 1080P. They are both priced extremely competitively and have been flawless for me. their online stores are also very informative, and if you have any issues with the cable they are happy to help you out.

All HDMI cables do almost exactly the same job with the graphics as its a digital signal and apparently digital signals can only be recieved in one way but the bulk of the difference you get with the HDMI cable is for the sound quality. I found all this out after a splashed $350 on Monster HDMI-400 cable. I guess i shouldnt have done my research after getting it.

If it does what you want it to its all good.

When youre trying to push 1080p video and lossless audio via the one hdmi cable, then youll have troubles if your cable cant carry the bandwidth.

but most people arent and their runs are usually 1-2m so the cheapies will do.

btw $30 can get you a pretty awesome cable. search for 'hamma' or 'selby hdmi' 'ugly hdmi' on ebay for quality at a good price

HDMI cables are all same picture quality, the only difference is the lastability and quality of the cable itself. As long as you get a HDMI v1.3 (or later)cable, there will be no difference. It is just ones and zeros going through the cable. I have a gold plated $60 cable and a $14 cable, and the quality is the same on either.
As for the length, the longer the cable the lower the quality. This won't matter so much on the run of the mill packaged cable. If you had a 50 metre cable your picture quality would suffer.

i got mine off ebay i think about 15-20 bucks ,best damn money i ever spent and it is a must if you have a ps3 ,before you hook them up ,have a 5 minute game of whatever ,quickly turn it off hook them up and play the same game at the same spot ,you will be very surprised what it does!

but if you spend anymore than 20 bucks on one ,theres something wrong with you!
