OMG - yes yes and double yes - how could people not buy this thing (unless its like $5-600 that is). This is what people bought their PS3's for... expandability. Why get a Beyondwiz or Toppy box when you can have it all... and gaming! At the risk of sounding liek a sony rep, it sounds good. Btw - Sony's crappy music software Sonicstage still gives me nightmares with my 20gb sony player - seriously possibly the worst ever software, so I hope that the software they roll out for the PVR is good. Now if they make sure that you save the .tp files onto an external drive or network that would be the end of me...

yeh it should arive here with in the same month as it dose in europe. only thing is i might have to whip in a bigger hard drive to store all the recored tv

LOL, hope they bring out a 750gb lappie drive - coz that's what well need (want...) for HD recording. I currently record from my PC single tuner to a usb drive then copy to a 500gb network drive - then play back on my PS3 using TVersity as a mediaserver through a wired ethernet switch network. Sounds cool, it is. I have about 150 episodes of the simpsons all racked and reasy to go. BTW ps3 cant play back native .tp (tv video files) natively so you need TVersity to transcode them to mpeg2 - works well though quite stable.

This is great, and it’s certainly a fine alternative to regular digital set top boxes currently available, not to mention timely as free to air broadcasters plan to switch of analogue signals at the end of 2009 so this will undoubtedly be useful.

Since I dont have a HD Set Top Box yet so cant wait till this arrives! Amen for this!

I was sort of "meh" until I saw about it being able to stream to the PSP - interesting feature, making the PSP a remote TV. My TV has a built in tuner already.

Not that I watch TV anyhow, just DVDs...

I'm getting one of these bad bois either way.. but it would be cool if it can -

A. Start recording a scheduled program whilst i'm folding.. whether it exits folding and records.. or the Sony devs and Stanford can come up with a background process Folding progam.

B. Goes back to its previous program after recording (say i was folding before it starts recording.. it goes back to folding afterwards automatically without my input)

C. I know it can record one channel whilst watching another.. but with the PS3s CELL power.. hopefully it can record two programs at once!

thats all.. fold fold fold!

my ps3 only 40 gb. Just wondering when it is become available, if i hook up an external USB hard drive, can i transfer the recorded HDTV to it and play from the USB hd. I don't want to replace the PS3 internal drive as the largest is still limited in size and pricey.

I can get 500g HD fro less than AUD 200 or 1 Tera less than AUD 400.

Yes I took this picture using a tv tuner but not this TV Tuner & it was connected to a laptop. The PS3 was connected into a AV slot on the tv tuner.

hay how can you say that i've never had any probs with sonicstage but put me down for one (only prob is my ps3 hard drive is full and i don't have any music or vid's just game stuff) dos any one know if i get a usb hard drive can i put my pic's, vid,s tv and game stuff on there or just some of it??? :-)

Saw this for sale in the UK for about £70 so about 170 to 180 australian, bit over priced if you ask me especially if you haven't already upgraded your hard drive (+200ish) seems cheaper just to buy a DVR with a decent HD or wait for the price to drop.

Can't wait to get this, so I can watch my recorded shows on my PSP without hogging the TV and annoying my wife! (For those with wives/girlfriends, u know what I mean!)
Just hope the price is reasonable!
