The Ultimate Bourne Collection - The Facts

Based on the 1990 book by Robert Ludlum, 'The Bourne Identity", the film version generated plenty of box-office craziness and received great reviews from critics, if not for its spectacular fight scenes then for Matt Damon's seemingly perfect portrayal of the human weapon.

Released in 2002, The Bourne Identity was such a success that it spawned two sequels in The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum. Surprisingly, all three movies are great, each receiving critical acclaim and box-office success - it's not often that sequels out-do the original.

Now, after a successful release on the doomed HD-DVD format, The Bourne Trilogy comes to the victorious Blu-Ray format in one of the best movie collections available. If you have a healthy home entertainment set-up and a Blu-Ray player, The Ultimate Bourne Collection is a must-have for your collection. Not only does it have a spectacular video presentation that rivals other Blu-Ray transfers, but it also has an amazing audio track and some of the best extras we've ever seen on a Blu-Ray disc.

Whether you're a fan of the Bourne films or just action films in general, The Bourne Trilogy on Blu-Ray is a more than worthy purchase. Even if you already have them on DVD, this collection surpasses every other version we've seen of the movies to date, so it's worth the "double dip".

The Bourne Movies

THE BOURNE IDENTITY (2002):

When a man is found floating in the Mediterranean Sea by a fishing boat, the ship’s Doctor discovers two bullet wounds and an implant with an unidentified number inside the unconscious castaway.

With nothing but the code, the amnesiac man travels to Zurich, gaining access to a safe-deposit box containing a gun, thousands of dollars in various currencies, and valid passports from numerous countries – each listing a different identity.

Within minutes, he is on the run from a seemingly ever-present agency, relying on language and fighting skills he doesn’t even know he possesses. Offering a nomadic woman $20,000 for a ride to Paris, the two strangers struggle to find out who he really is and why they are being hunted.

THE BOURNE SUPREMACY (2004):

Following the smash worldwide success of The Bourne Identity, Matt Damon returns as Jason Bourne, a trained assassin, in the second instalment of Robert Ludlum’s gripping series. Bourne and Marie (Franka Potente) have maintained their anonymous, underground existence at the cost of a sense of permanence. Fuelled by splintered nightmares and haunted by a past he cannot remember, Bourne moves Marie from city to city, attempting to stay one step ahead of the implicit threat in every stranger’s glance, every ‘wrong number’.the fear that at any second, without warning, he will be pulled back into a world he hopes he left behind. When an operative appears in the sleepy village that has been their latest home, Bourne and Marie are faced with only one choice – to run. With the stakes in a new, global ‘cat-and-mouse’ game raised, the cold-blooded and professional assassin Jason Bourne returns, intent on once and for all retrieving his identity.

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (2007):

All he wanted was to disappear. Instead, Jason Bourne is now hunted by the people who made him what he is. Having lost his memory and the one person he loved, he is undeterred by the barrage of bullets and a new generation of highly-trained killers. Bourne has only one objective: to go back to the beginning and find out who he was. Now, in the new chapter of this espionage series, Bourne will hunt down his past in order to find a future. He must travel from Moscow, Paris, Madrid and London to Tangier and New York City as he continues his quest to find the real Jason Bourne—all the while trying to outmaneuver the scores of cops, federal officers and Interpol agents with him in their crosshairs. Capturing gritty and realistic corners of the world, director Greengrass returns with his unique and compelling cinematic vision to bring the third installment of this edgy, real-world espionage thriller to the screen.
