News \ Playstation 3 "killing" HD-DVD
While the Playstation 3 still lags behind both the XBOX 360 and Wii in terms of world-wide sales, that negetive point has down little to deter the success of one of the newest video formats in Blu-Ray Disc.
While HD-DVD players are cheaper, especially in the US which seems to be the major battlefield in the "war" between the two formats, BD outsells its competitor a solid 2:1 in disc sales.
What does this have to do with Playstation 3 you may ask? Well, considering that HD-DVD Player sales are higher than actual BD players you have to ask; why are people buying so many BD? Well, considering the fact that Playstation 3 sales don't represent a BD Player sale, it would be feasible to say that most Playstation 3 owners are buying more BD than XBOX 360 HD-DVD Drive owners are buying HD-DVDs.
