Sony officially unveiled the PlayStation 3 to the public on May 16, 2005, during the E3 2005 conference. The Playstation 3 is the third home video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment which is the successor to the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 3 competes with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. This little wonder can output high-definition video for both video games and movies via a HDMI 1.3 port, supporting up to 1080p HD resolution. Since there are so much to review about the PS3 i will make them into sections.
Appearance
Look at it, so sleek,so shiny, so... AWESOME! Yes the Playstation 3 is so "Next-Gen" that taking pictures from it will be very difficult. Because it has gloss almost everywhere, it will be a magnet for fingerprints, but no matter as you can just wipe them off. Now i mean once you look a it, you can't even take your eyes from it since it's so damn shiny! You can even see your own reflection on it! Also the chrome touch is very calming for they eyes, just don't go parading your PS3 directly into the sun 
Thanks to the super advanced technology, once you can turn on the PS3 or eject the the game disks by pressing the eject symbol or the power symbol
The 20GB Ps3 on top and the 60GB Ps3 on the bottom. So which one is better???
Sixaxis Controller
Now that your done drooling from seeing the PS3 too much, i suggest taking a look at the controller that the Playstation 3 has to offer.
Ah yes the Sixaxis Wireless Controller. The Sixaxis can operate wirelessly via Bluetooth. Up to 7 simultaneous controllers are supported natively by the console.The controller also features a USB mini-B port, which can be used to connect a USB cable for internal battery charging and wired operation. The controller can be seamlessly swapped from wireless to wired operation, and is charged automatically upon connection. The PS3 comes with a USB to USB mini cable, but spare controllers do not include these cables; only one cable should be needed for all controllers. The controller can operate up to 30 hours on a full charge. Further fueling the speculation were comments from Incognito Entertainment, the developer behind the motion-sensing PlayStation 3 game, Warhawk, that it only received development controllers with the motion-sensing feature 10 days or so before E3. The Sixaxis features finer analog sensitivity than the DualShock 2, increased to 10-bit precision from the 8-bit precision of the DualShock 2. The controller also features more trigger-like R2 and L2 buttons, with an increased range of depression. In the place of the "Analog" mode button switch of previous dual analog models is a jewel-like "PS button" with the PlayStation logo, which can be used to access the home menu and turn the console or the controller on or off. The PS button can be customized to light up if you modify the controller. A row of four numbered LED port indicators are on the top of the controller, to identify and distinguish multiple wireless controllers and can also display the remaining battery charge.
Playstation Eye
The PlayStation Eye is a digital camera device for the PlayStation 3 video game console, and the successor to the EyeToy for the PlayStation 2. PlayStation Eye is capable of capturing standard video with high frame rates of 60 hertz at a 640x480 pixel resolution, and 120 hertz at 320x240 pixels, which is "four times the resolution" and "two times the frame-rate" of the EyeToy, according to Sony. The PlayStation Eye also has "two times the sensitivity" of the EyeToy, with Sony collaborating with sensor chip partner OmniVision Technologies on a sensor chip design using larger sensor pixels, allowing for more effective low-light operation. Sony states that the PlayStation Eye can produce "reasonable quality video" under the illumination provided by a television set.
The camera features a two-setting adjustable fixed focus zoom lens, with a 56-degree field of view setting similar to that of the EyeToy, suited for close-up framing in chat applications; and 75-degree field of view setting suited for long shot framing in interactive physical gaming applications. The PlayStation Eye is capable of outputting video to the console uncompressed, with "no compression artefacts" or with optional JPEG compression.

After finally knowing everything about the PS3, don't forget about the newly added XMB or the Xross Media Bar.
The PlayStation 3 XMB is very similar to the PSP XMB except for that it features two additional items: Users and Friends. The PS3 has enhanced multitasking, unlike the PSP. This includes listening to music while looking at photos, browsing the web, and looking at the friends list, for example. Unlike the PSP, multitasking is triggered by the "PS" button, rather than a "Home" button. The background can be changed to a picture (on firmware 1.90+) or the system default is to change color depending on the current month, and it is similar to PlayStation Portable XMB, except the brightness changes depending on the time of the day. A major color change occurs on the 15th and 25th of each month, the color gradually changes between those dates, but the major change is during the three days before those dates in each month.
Which then leads us to the PSN or the Playstation Network.
It was revealed that users will be able to download some of the thousands of PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 titles from the PlayStation Network for about US$5–15, starting with those with the smallest game data. and electronic money (via the Edy system) are two ways PlayStation 3 owners in Japan can purchase content through the Japanese PlayStation Network Store. On May 8, 2007 Sony Computer Entertainment announced PlayStation Network Cards,[114] a form of electronic money that can be used with the Store. PlayStation Network Cards, set to be available in units of 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 yen, can be purchased at convenience stores throughout Japan. Each card contains a 12 digit code which can be inputted to the PlayStation Network to place credits in the virtual wallet.
HOME
is a community-based service for the PlayStation Network which has been in development since early 2005. Home allows users to create an avatar for their PlayStation 3 console. This avatar will get their own apartment, which can be adorned by items players can receive in several achievements. In the future the service will also expand, allowing players to have more sorts of clothing, as well as hold pets. When it is available, Home will be launched via its own category in the XMB between the "Game" and "Network" category. This service will be free of charge.
