Gaikai On-Demand Gaming Possible on PS3
David Perry has been busy with an upcoming service named 'Gaikai'. This revolutionary service gives users on-demand gaming through the web browser. It allows you to stream games straight from Gaikai's server which means you won't need a high end computer. All you need is an Internet Browser and an Internet Connection and you're set. At this stage, this new service is in closed beta.
When David Perry was asked the question, 'Is it possible for this service to be accessed via the Playstation 3 web browser', he responded saying,
'YES, it's PERFECT for low memory or non-3D environments as we are just streaming video. So yes, if Sony wanted, we could make this happen. I've not had the time to get into that discussion with them yet.'
If your wondering whom 'David Perry' is, he is a Northern Irish video game developer who has created games like Wild 9, Enter the Matrix and more. He was also he founder of 'Shiny Entertainment' in 1993. Once 2007 hit, Shiny Entertainment then merged with 'The Collective' which created 'Double Helix Games'.
