Ratchet & Clank - ToD - 9/10
One of the best franchises on the PS2 has come to the PS3. My favourite game on the PS3 at the moment is Ratchet & Clank ToD. It's a great game and very addictive for any fan of TPS, blowning stuff up and robotic pirates should love this game.
Storyline
You control a Lombax called Ratchet and your sidekick is of course Clank. You play as Clank every now and then but you mainly play has Ratchet. The plot is as follows: you find out that you are the last Lombax in existance and you try and find out where they went. You even have to deal with robotic pirates but i don't want to ruin the story for you. You earn bolts by finding them in crates or earning them by doing challanges in the arena. Bolts are used to buy more weapons and devices. Raretanium is used to upgraded your weapons. Raretanium is found by blowning up treasure chests and destroying certain enemies.
Sound
The sound is amazing when you smash boxes open, destroy enemies and while watching cut-scenes.
Insomniac have done a great job with the sound and i can't wait to see what they do with the sound in their next game.
Challenge Mode
When you beat the game for the first time you get to play the game again but this time in challenge mode. In challenge mode your enemies become stronger and the more enemies you kill the bigger your "multiplier" will get. The multiplier can go up to 20 times, which means that all the bolts you get while you have a multiplier will get multiplied by what your current multiplier is - but your multipler will then reset to zero when you get hit. Also, once you get a weapon up to V5 you can buy the omega verson of the weapon which can then be levelled up to V10.
Value for money
If you are a child between 8 & 15 then you will want to buy this game even if it costs $109.95. The only problem with this game is that when you finish the game you will want a sequel.
