PS3Hyper.com have posted the top 5 selling Playstation 3 games of all time. The list all fine and dandy...until you read past number one and hit the second game on the list. From then on in it goes down hill.
1. Metal Gear Solid 4 - 671,706
2. Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds - 408,175
3. Dynasty Warriors 6 - 371,443
4. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam - 317,580
5. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 - 316,533
Hot Shots Golf is a fine game, but No. 2 best-selling PS3 game so far in Japan? Really?
The Playstation 3 is doing fine around the world as a whole, but it's struggling it its home. That list is why. It's a perfect example of how different the Japanese people are as gamers. I'm not at all being critical of their wants and needs as gamers, but if they're buying games like Dynasty Warriors 6 ahead of Folklore, Uncharted, Motorstorm, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank and Devil May Cry 4, then there's no surprise why it's unperforming there. Those games are all Western developed (apart from Folklore and DMC4) and you'd think they'd have the best chance of high sales of all the Western-developed titles on PS3.
