PS3 News \ Ubisoft: "You're only as good as your last product"

The American president of Ubisoft, Laurent Detoc, has said that they wont bring out lots of games for successful sequels.

He said that they will allow games to grow and won’t take the easy way out.


"When we bring it back, there will be more anticipation for it," Detoc told Forbes.

This might have something to do with a Prince of Persia sequel to Sands of Time that didn’t receive as much critical or commercial success because it was released so quickly. But I guess this is a bad thing as we won’t see a sequel to the new Prince of Persia game.

Theres nothing wrong with making sequels.. what he should be saying is that they're not interested in cashing in on their franchises and instead making their sequels as good as humanly possible to live up to fans' expectations. Thats what he should have said.

They want the hype to grow before they realease it which is really a double edged sword as people may just lose interest in it completely. Oh well we will soon find out (soon being the optimal word here)
