Around the Network #18
These Mondays keep coming around fast! Sorry if I missed anything this week, and I almost definitely have if it wasn't on the main 3 consoles, as I've got some rather annoying Internet issues tonight.
Happy holidays to anyone part of the class of 09! (The whole nation is there by now right?) Uni is much the same, except nobody really cares what you do, and there's a bar. Enjoy! :p

Metroid Prime Trilogy Review
A taste
The greatest game trilogy of all time. Three of the greatest games ever made for the price of one; it doesn’t get any better than that. I feel like I wouldn’t be doing my job very well if I ended it there, but there really isn’t a lot more that has to be said. It’s funny looking back now. 7 years ago Super Metroid fans were up in arms about a developer they had never heard of creating a first person Metroid game. The same fans that had to wait 8 years for a sequel almost preferred no new games rather than a nobody to come a long and ruin it all by taking the series into the third dimension. Oh, how wrong they were. Metroid Prime proved to be one of the greatest first person games of all time. If you didn’t manage to get around to it, and its sequel, last generation Nintendo has been kind enough to remaster them with controls from the third game, and collate it all into a neat little package.

Cricket Review
A taste
The hot weather has hit us, the smell of freshly mown grass is in the air and the domestic competitions have already commenced. Yep, it’s that time of the year again, to dust off your ‘whites’ and slap on some zinc cream in readiness for the Australian cricket season proper. On the Wii that is. Released a few months back as Ashes Cricket 2009 in the UK, us folk ‘down under’ have had to wait until now for its release, under one of the most brilliant game names we’ve ever heard. Cricket.

Lips: Number One Hits Review
A taste
Lips: Number One Hits tries to do something its predecessor ultimately failed to do: give gamers a genuine karaoke experience with plenty of great tracks to sing along to. While it still has some of the issues that plagued the original, Number One Hits is a step in the right direction for this XBOX 360 exclusive, a title that livens things up a bit and gives Sony’s equivalent Sing Star franchise a run for its money.

Top 10 Fighting Game Series
A taste
When it comes to fighting games there's more games to chose from than you can poke a joystick at and to gather up our top 10 favorite fighting games of all time would seem all most impossible. So to help spread things out a little we composed a list of the top ten fight game series, where a fighting game has to prove its worth with more than just the one release. To make it onto this list the series has to have made an appearance on multiple platforms, have more than two renditions and generally kick ass. Fighting games have been around for decades, they have been gobbling up our coins in the arcades and still do to this day. They have provided us with bone crushing entertainment in our homes powered by our consoles, and have even been popular enough to have movies made after them. So without further ado let's get cracking with this list, starting at number ten and working our way to the podium position of number one.

As always there's no guarantee they are 100% accurate (after all we want interesting and pointless, not stuff we already know). Enjoy!
