yes you do. Once you complete the update it tells you to sign up for an id at id.konami.net, you can open the website from the game but it's the same thing as doing it on you pc. Don't expect an ID anytime soon. I've been trying since last night and I still can't get onto the website due to traffic

no idea, i'd just keep trying, it'll be busy up till monday, but the longer you wait, the less ppl there will be, so youll have better chance sunday/saturday evening
btw, for those who want to know, the update pushes the games size up the ~1300 mbs (over a gig!), so there is at least 400 mbs of update.. and i had it on all day, but when i calculated how long it was gonna take last night (25kbs, 1% in 3 mins) it was gonna take about 5 hrs.. hope you guys have better speeds!
(also, to help out those who still have to d/l the update, leave your update torrent screen up for a while afterward so others can leech of your ps3, and get theres updated faster. looking out for the community!

Thanks, only had to wait 2 minutes. Averaged 230KB/s with 16 clients so not too bad. Wish I could get onto KONAMI to get my ID etc......very frustrating

I think its terrible how this Beta has been rolled out with all the problems its having, hopefully by Monday all should be ironed out but to be honest i would of rather had a singleplayer MGS4 demo to this even if it was like a timed demo or something ( by the way is there gonna be a demo anytime soon?). Stealth games suck for me online i hate them much prefer an FPS like COD4, UnrealT3 or Halo3, still gonna give this a go though see what all the hype is about...
