Few minor things (dying twice on some rounds etc) but this IS the beta!
Controls are really intuitive once you've been playing for a 1/2 hour or so.. game is addictive.. can't seem to level up yet though.. hmm.. derbin point system is good, (points for kills, use point to upgrade weapons ingame, then choose better weapons and upgrade them too!
You get 3 weapons, primary, secondary, and either trap or grenade.
You can find barrels, and damn is it fun rolling around into peoples!

Anyway, it's 2.30, i need some sleep..
Turns out i was wrong about the 10am thing.. was 11pm (11 hours early).. but i'm not complaining!

I was a little disappointed, unless you get a head shot it takes about 15 bullets to kill someone! Also after playing COD4 the lack of run button really does suck, it's like snail pace.

agreed.

the movement seems.. awkward. like, it doesn't feel realistic.

it isn't about any games being fast paced or what not (like UT3 for instance), just how his movement is pretty much just a bit faster than walking. i got on there and was like wtf?

also, is it possible to hide behind a wall and shoot or what? Like in uncharted, where you'd hide behind a statue, peak over, aim and fire type thing. couldn't do it in MGO.. (not sure if thats because its not possible or just doesn't work though)..

of course its a beta, not the final product of the game. but i doubt things like movement etc will be changed, because they'd of done it before the beta was released and are probably happy with it (=/) but eh, so far.. 50% good, 50% bad imo.

Oh well just over 2hrs and I'm level 1, also the skills do go up a little bit after every game, so I'm assuming Fast Movement at Level 3 will be quite speedy

I'm sure the Beta was only availble to download from the PSN for a while so I think you might have missed it. The Betas good but not great so I wouldn't worry about it.

If you really like MGS you'll just have to wait for the full game.

I've had that "Due to heavy traffic" a couple of times now but after a couple of trys it lets me in. I guess its just after waiting a week everyones trying to have a go.
