brianfear said: canvas actually has much higher fees that bopo did/does.
bopo has a $1 loading fee, while canvas has a $3/95, plus monthly keeping fees which bopo doesn't.
personally i think this is ridiculous. bopo was/is really good, particularly when you are underage and are unable to get a debit card through a bank.
i'mpretty sure that ezipass is the same as bill express, wouldn't bopo simply have to make a switch to another company through which cardholders would load their cards?

Because I use my card more than 10 times in a month it's cheaper as I don't like to get hit with fees every time like bopo

You don't have to be 18 to get a canvas card...

Bill express is a completely seperate company to ezipass. Check out the cuscal press release, they are talking about refunding bopo cards...

Received this just then via SMS-

bopo prepaid card holders pls withdraw all your money from your bpop card via ATM or EFTPOS transactions by 5pm 15 Aug 08, For more see www.cuscal.com.au

this via email-

Bill Express Ltd, the company that provides services to support your bopo prepaid Visa card is in administration. Bill Express, owners of bopo cards (Australia) Pty Ltd, appointed an administrator on 8 July 2008. The administrator is following due process, but unfortunately this is rapidly limiting the services available to bopo cardholders.

Cuscal Limited, the issuer of the bopo card, has decided on a course of action to communicate directly with cardholders via email, SMS and letter, in order to minimise any inconvenience in relation to accessing your money.

For cardholders who are concerned that this message is not legitimate, please see suggestions to independently verify the information at the end of this email.

Your funds are safely deposited with Cuscal and are available for you to spend or withdraw via ATM or EFTPOS transactions until 5pm on Friday, 15 August 2008.

If you are unable to withdraw funds or seek to withdraw funds after this date, you can access your funds through a reimbursement process via Cuscal. The money stored on your bopo card will be returned to you, subject to identity verification, however this reimbursement process will be far slower than if you drawdown your own funds via an ATM or EFTPOS store purchase before 5pm on 15

5pm on 15 August 2008.

Cuscal can guarantee that the money on your bopo card is secured because as the 'issuer' of bopo cards, Cuscal is an APRA regulated Authorised Deposit-Taking Institution with a AA- Standard & Poors' credit rating. Cuscal is an entirely separate company to bopo cards (Australia) and Bill Express Ltd.

Who can cardholders contact with any enquiries?
Due to directions by the administrator, the bopo call centre is no longer operational, however bopo cardholders can contact Cuscal's experienced staff with any enquiries on (02) 8299 9000 between 7.30am and 6.00pm (AEST) Monday to Friday.

Cardholders should be aware that Cuscal does not have access to bopo systems and therefore Cuscal may experience difficulties in accessing certain data.

During this period we appreciate your patience and understanding, as access to information and data may be cumbersome due to the administration of the abovementioned companies.

For further information, Cuscal has established a Q&A page for bopo cardholders at www.cuscal.com.au < www.cuscal.com.au

We are working hard to ensure bopo cardholders interests are met. Our aim is to ensure any inconvenience, as a result of this process, is minimised.

Not anymore....... BOPO " sent" me email this morning ( 18/07/2008) requesting all its customers to withdraw all our credit at ATM or Eftpos ASAP.

I think this has something to do with "BillExpress" bankruptcy.
