Rumour: 250GB PS3 Slim Coming?

The PlayStation 3 slim was announced at GamesCon '09 this morning to be released complete with a 120GB HDD. However, according to US FCC reports a 250GB model may also be in the works.

Model number CECH-2001B, opposed to the 120GB model number CECH-2001A, is listed as supporting a 250GB hard drive. The information from the FCC isn't new, and was dated back in March. Interestingly enough Sony of America actually managed to keep this one under wraps until now. The submission was made by Sony Computer Entertainment America using the fictional name of Sand Dollar Enterprise. Cunning.

We haven't heard anything about a 250GB unit yet, but it would hardly be surprising considering how storage space hungry people are these days.

does it really matter? Anyone who doesn't know how to put a bigger hard drive in is an idiot. i've got the fastest 2.5" hard drive going around in mine - Seagate Momentus 7200.3 500GB. Now Sony aren't gunna bring out a model with that in it are they?
