Rumour: Killzone 3 to use "wand"

An industry source has told CVG that Killzone 3 will arrive later this year...in stereoscopic 3D and to make use of Sony's motion wand.

The Playstation 3 is set to get a stereoscopic 3D update later this year, and the word is that Guerrilla Games wants to release the second sequel to coincide with the upgrade.

Sony are set to announced an all-new sequel according to the Twitter page of SCE Europe's Dave Epke. Killzone 3 may very well be it.

3D and using the wand thing? Get outta here! The first Killzone was rubbish, the second one wasnt much better. Their gonna kill it with this, if there's no option to use the pad then im not gonna touch this... God damn motion controls as if having to use a dual shock aint bad enough lol im joking its not that bad...

Sif KZ3 wont have the option for normal controls.
Sony would be shooting one of their biggest titles in the foot by making it Motion controls only. I liked Killzone 2 and still play it regularly but i always found myself wishing it had wii pointer controls (i had gotten used to the pointer controls playing metroid on my wii)
I have a feeling quite a few dual-shockers are going to be headshot into oblivion by Wii trained motion control vets.

Sequel is not restricted to a second narrative. Whether it's the second or tenth continuation of a story/game/book, it's still a sequel. "Trilogy" is what you'd refer to three combined.

I did enjoy KZ2, not having played the first at all, & whilst not the greatest FPS by a long way there were enough satisfying elements - that being the Helghast were easy enough to dislike and pop a cap into.
I would have reservations if the wand thing was the only option re: gameplay. I'm not even sure what it is, but have never enjoyed, thus far, any of the motion sensor side of things that I have come across.
The 3-D thing does sound a little interesting - is this likely to come in a firmware patch upgrade - man, I hope so. I am kind-of stuck with my Phat PS3 'for financial reasons' and couldn't go for a new console, as I'm sure is the case for many people.
I await eagerly the release of KZ3 or any more than half-decent FPS.
